In Chapter 2, we will list all retrieval codes of TRANS according to the Table order in the publication.
We hope you may easily find the retrieval codes for the data you need in Chapters 2. However, it might be helpful if you are familiar with how we construct these retrieval codes. Generally speaking, each retrieval code has two parts:
(1) The first part consists of a certain English abbreviation to represent a particular "concept" in manpower statistics. For example:
RPN | -- Railway
Passenger Traffic -- No. of Passengers.
RPK | -- Railway Passenger
Traffic -- Passenger-KMS.
| RFT | -- Railway Freight
Tonnages -- Tons.
| RFK | -- Railway Freight
Tonnages -- ton-KMS.
| TRAF | -- Taiwan Railway
Administration Freight Transport.
| MPN | -- Passengers Traffic
By Motor Carriers -- No. of Passengers.
| MPK | -- Passengers Traffic
By Motor Carriers -- Passenger-KMS.
| CPN | -- Civil Aviation --
No. of Passengers.
| CFT | -- Civil Aviation --
Tonnage of Freights.
| CS | -- Civil Aviation --
No.of Flights.
| WT | -- Waterborne Commerce
-- Cargo Tonnage.
| WTM | -- Waterborne Commerce
-- Ton-Nautical Mile.
| VN | -- Incoming &
Outgoing Vessels in Harbors -- No. of Vessels.
| VT | -- Incoming
& Outgoing Vessels in Harbors -- Gross Tonnage.
| WI&E | --
Waterborne Imports & Exports.
| CON | --
Container Traffic.
| VC | -- Volume
of Cargo Handled by Ports.
| MV | -- No. of
Registered Motor Vehicles.

(2) The second part is a "modifier" placed right behind the initial
English abbreviation. These modifiers are usually some English abbreviations
representing a certain category in manpower statistics. For instance, "TRA"
represents "Taiwan Railway Administration", "CBUS" represents
"City Bus", "KAS" represents "Kaohsiung",
etc. The initial
English abbreviation and the modifier are divided by an "@" sign.
Therefore, RPN@TRA is the retrieval code for "Railway
Passenger Traffic -- No. of Passengers
-- Taiwan Railway Administration", MPK@CBUS is the retrieval code for "Passengers
Traffic by Motor Carries
-- Passeranger -- KMS
-- City Bus", CS@KAS is the retrieval code for "Civil Aviation -
NO. of Flights
-- Kaohsiung International Airport".
