Introduction

Brief Description of the Over-the-Counter Companies' Financial Statements Databank

The databank contains annual data of Over-the-Counter Companies' financial statements, such as assets, liabilities, income statements, cash flows, dividends, etc.

This bank consists of two parts, with bank names OTCCOMP and OTCCOMPF:

　
OTCCOMP: including data for non-financial Companies;
OTCCOMPF: including data for financial Companies (i.e. banking and insurance Companies).

At the moment, we have collected 174 items of data consistently across 460 non-financial Companies so that there are 80,040 annual time series in OTCCOMP; and we have collected 191 items of data consistently across 5 financial Companies so that there are 955 annual time series in OTCCOMPF.

Historical data can be traced back (wherever possible) to 1993.

Data collected from the official financial reports submitted to Taiwan Stock Exchange by those listed Companies.

Data updated annually.

　

　

1.2 Composition of Retrieval Codes

The retrieval codes for OTCCOMP and OTCCOMPF are composed as:

Initial Letter + Company Code No. + @ + Item Abbreviation

For example, A4201@TOTAL is the retrieval code for "Assets - Shin Tai Industry Co., Ltd. - Total Assets." "A" is the Initial Letter, representing "Assets"; "4201" is the Company Code No. for Shin Tai Industry Co., Ltd.; "TOTAL" is the Item Abbreviation for Total Assets. I4401@BTAX is the retrieval code for "Income Statement - Toung Loong Textile Mfg. Co.,Ltd. - Income Before Tax". "I" is the Initial Letter for "Income Statement"; "4401" is the Company Code No. for Toung Loong Mfg. Co., Ltd.; "BTAX" is the Item Abbreviation for "Income Before Tax".

In the following chapers: Chapter 2 lists all Initial Letters and Item Abbreviations for non-financial Companies (OTCCOMP); Chapter 3 lists all Initial Letters and Item Abbreviations for financial Companies (OTCCOMPF). Chapter 4 lists all Company Code Numbers for non-financial Companies, and Chapter 5 lists all Company Code Numbers for Financial Companies. You can construct the retrieval codes for the data you need from these listings.
