從 2014 年 10 月到 2015 年 1 月，原油價格下跌將近 50%。(布蘭特原油每桶由 $97.3跌至 $48.7)，而美元則強勁上升。這兩項歷史性的衝擊，使得不少政府與大企業都得重新評估、編列其預算與營運規劃。

美國「環球透視」(IHS Global Insight) 應客戶群的需求，目前正進行一個大規模研究 (multi client study)，預計將於 2015 年 5 月完成，發表書面報告，Webcast，並提供線上 module 之計量模擬。 目前訂價為美金 $18,750。
